Each section will tell you about some of our common used ingredients and some details about the ingredients.

Butters

Bacuri Butter is from the Amazon Rainforest. Bacuri Butter has a high absorption rate and will penetrate the skin quickly due to its high content of tripalmitin. The butter has a deep dark brown color so caution should be used around things that can be stained, it is absorbed a few minutes after it is applied and the skin becomes velvety to the touch. Bacuri Butter helps to stabilize elastin and collagen production. It is highly moisturizing and has anti-bacterial and antifungal properties. It promotes a natural color to give the skin a beautiful golden tone.
Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. It is ivory in color when raw and commonly dyed with borututu root or palm oil. It is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer, salve or lotion. Shea Butter boosts skin moisture. It works as an emollient that softens and hydrates skin. Because it contains several types of fatty acids that improve the skin's natural barrier, shea butter also protects skin from damage from the environment like pollutants.
Cupuacu butter is extracted from the seed of the fruit of the Cupuacu tree. Cupuacu butter is an excellent emollient that restores elasticity to the skin while providing anti-oxidants and hydration. It is considered a “super-moisturizer” because of its hydrophilic (water-loving) properties. As it carries water to the skin it makes skin supple, soft and more elastic.
Murumuru Butter is extracted from the seeds of Murumuru palms that flourish within the Amazon Rainforest. Murumuru butter is an excellent emollient known for its moisturizing properties and is sometimes called vegetable silicone for its ability to replace mineral silicone in skin and hair formulations. Murumuru butter has a fatty acid profile rich in medium and long chain fatty acids, such as lauric acid and myristic acid, which may help restore your skin's moisture barrier.
Mango butter made with the oil from mango seeds. Rich in vitamins A and E, Mango Butter has a deep moisturizing and regenerative effect. Mango butter contains vitamin A, an antioxidant that stimulates the skin's natural renewal process. It encourages the skin to produce new, healthy skin cells, improves the skin's texture and elasticity, and protects the skin against damage caused by UV radiation.
Kokum butter is an oil derived from the seeds of a fruit bearing tree called the kokum tree. Kokum trees formally known as Garcinia indica are primarily cultivated in tropical regions of India. Kokum butter has powerful moisturizing properties and won’t clog pores. It’s frequently used to treat a variety of skin issues, including acne, minor inflammatory conditions, and dry skin, hair, and scalp.
Tucuma butter is an ingredient derived from Colombian and Brazilian tucuma palm tree seeds. The seeds are pressed into a nutrient packed rich butter. Tucuma seed butter is rich in polyphenols, carotenoids, Lauric, Myristic and Oleic (Omega-9) acids that provides antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Tucuma butter lightens and diminishes dark spots, scars and stretch marks, promoting flawless skin.
Ucuuba Butter is a natural butter from the seeds of the Ucuuba tree. The resulting butter is brown to yellow in color and soft but dry in consistency. Ucuuba Butter is said to have anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties and as such is ideal for treating acne, eczema and dry or irritated skin. Exceptionally rich in lauric, myristic and palmitic acid, this butter can assist in the maintenance of healthy skin and hair.

Salts

Epsom salt is also known as magnesium sulfate. It’s a chemical compound made up of magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen. It gets its name from the town of Epsom in Surrey, England, where it was originally discovered. Despite its name, Epsom salt is a completely different compound than table salt. It was most likely termed “salt” because of its chemical structure. When Epsom salt is dissolved in water, it releases magnesium and sulfate ions that can be absorbed through your skin, providing you with magnesium and sulfates which serve important bodily functions. It is known to help promote sleep, reduce stress, reduce muscle soreness, relieve cramps and reduce pain & swelling.
Dead Sea salt, unlike regular table salt or Epsom salt, is rich with nutrients like magnesium, calcium, sulfur, zinc. Dead Sea salt is rich in nutrients because sea salt products are minimally processed and are made from evaporated seawater. Soaking in a bath with salt from the Dead Sea can improve your skin’s barrier strength. Sea salt bath can reduce inflammation, redness and skin roughness.​
Himalayan salt is a type of sea salt mined in the foothills of the Himalaya mountains, primarily in Pakistan. Himalayan salt comes in a variety of colors, including white, pink, and orange. The color content of the salt is determined by the amount of trace minerals it contains. These include potassium, iron, calcium, and magnesium. Himalayan salt baths may be beneficial by relaxing and calming the body, improving skin conditions and soothe sore muscles.
Although not a salt we thought we would include it since we add it to our bath salts. Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda or bicarbonate of soda, is a chemical compound. It is a salt composed of a sodium cation and a bicarbonate anion. Sodium bicarbonate is a white solid that is crystalline, but often appears as a fine powder. Sodium bicarbonate has cleansing and detoxifying properties that may help to purify your body and boost immunity when added to bath salts, it also helps the water feel more silky instead of slippery.

Powders

Charcoal powder is made from burning organic material such as wood, peat, bamboo or coconut husk, and then treating the resultant carbon with steam or oxygen. “Activated” charcoal simply means that the charcoal has been treated to increase its surface area. Activated charcoal effectively cleanses the skin, unclogs pores, removes deeper impurities, and dead skin cells. The result is smooth, supple, and even-toned skin.
Turmeric powder is produced from pure turmeric rhizomes and is packed with curcumin, a strong antioxidant with powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric can support joint health, a strong digestive system and natural healing.
Thanaka powder is an all-natural powder made out of hand-selected barks from the Burmese thanaka tree. Thanaka powder nourishes, cleanses and calms your skin with its rich and natural ingredients. It is suitable for all skin types. Thanaka is packed with vitamin E, which protects the skin against polluted air and free radicals, the unstable compounds that damage cell structure. Additionally, thanaka is an effective moisturizer, and its hydrating and cooling effects makes it ideal for post sun exposure.
A natural skin toner, helps in skin inflammation and prickly heat. It makes the skin soft, smooth and glowing. Rose Petals powder contain antioxidants that fight off free radicals, skin irritants, excess sebum and germs. It cools & sooths body and Supports the nervous system. It moisturizes your skin, and is good for sensitive skin. It is an excellent Skin Cleanser.
A powerhouse of antioxidants, flavonoids and vitamin C and A, tamarind prevents formation of free radicals. You can soothe skin irritation and inflammation with tamarind powder. It also is a great ingredient to lighten skin tone and reduce dark spots and pigmentation naturally. Works as a natural skin protector, it is a good source of alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) which is one of the major ingredients in exfoliation.
Arrowroot powder, also called flour or starch is an effective thickening agent used to add texture and structure, it cuts the oily texture and helps body butter absorb more quickly. It also gives it a light and fluffy consistency. many beneficial minerals and vitamins such as zinc, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B6, and is known to provide relief to skin irritations including rashes, acne, skin sores, and rashes.
Colloidal oatmeal is made by grinding oat grain, or Avena sativa, into a fine powder. It’s considered an emollient, a substance that softens or soothes the skin because it packs fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients shown to benefit the skin.
Mica powder is crafted of a natural stone mineral that has a metallic sheen to it. Mica as a color additive, mica is safe for use in coloring products, including cosmetics and personal care products. ​Oxides and pigments are soap colorants that come in a powdered form. They can provide very strong color, or they can be used in smaller amounts to provide pastel tones.

Oils

Rich in essential fatty acids, trace elements, vitamin E and mineral salts, rice bran oil helps moisturize the skin and promotes skin microcirculation. Rice bran oil has healing, restructuring, soothing, cicatrizing, repairing (reduces skin inflammation) and decongesting properties.
Grapeseed Oil is one of the lightest oils available, and also has the benefit of being odorless. This versatile oil has numerous essential fatty acids. It has a rich, silky texture that is perfect for helping soothe away dryness and irritation. Grapeseed also won’t clog pores or cause breakouts and has mild antiseptic properties, making it great for acne-prone skin.
Jojoba is known for its extremely long shelf life and close resemblance to our skin’s sebum. it's not technically an oil, but rather is a liquid wax ester. Soothing, penetrating and moisturizing for all skin types. it offers high levels of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and vitamin E. It can also be used to balance oily skin and heal breakouts, due to its anti-inflammatory properties, Jojoba Oil can help with mild acne.
Hemp Seed Oil is a great as a moisturizer. Hemp oil is perfect for most skin types as it can moisturize without clogging your pores. It can even help to balance out oily skin, hydrating it and regulating the skin's oil production. Dryness can also cause your skin to overproduce oil, which in turn, can stimulate acne.
A non-greasy oil loaded with antioxidants, vitamin retinoic acid and all three essential fatty acids (Omega-3, -6, and -9) It helps with regeneration of mature skin, scarring, burns, reducing redness and dark spots, and evening skin tone.
Coconut Oil absorbs very quickly into the skin. It readily penetrates the skin with no greasy feeling. Coconut Oil also produces a barrier on the skin.
Castor oil's fatty acids are natural humectants. This effect can promote good skin healthy, relieve dryness, and soothe skin inflammation. It may also have the potential to accelerate wound healing.
Meadowfoam Oil is highly resistant to oxidation due to naturally occurring tocopherols and is one of the most stable lipids known. This oil has superior moisturizing and rejuvenating properties. It has mild ultraviolet (UV) protection properties.
A dark green color filled with chlorophyll, a known antibacterial. Very high levels of oleic acid (omega 9) and absorbs deeply into the layers of the skin. Soothing and super hydrating for eczema and all skin types, especially aging and irritated skin. Olive oil is an anti-inflammatory and sometimes infused with calendula for rashes and to increase the cooling soothing properties.
Palm kernel oil is an edible plant oil derived from the kernel of the oil palm Elaeis guineensis. It should not be confused with the other two edible oils derived from palm fruits: palm oil, extracted from the pulp of the oil palm fruit, and coconut oil, extracted from the kernel of the coconut. Palm Kernel Oil is an anti-aging agent, also helps in making the skin soft without getting greasy in appearance. Palm Kernel Oil helps in combating itchy skin, as well as providing relief to ragged cuticles.
Sunflower oil is high in linoleic acid, Vitamins A, B, D, E and minerals, great at penetrating skin. It has beneficial amounts of lecithin and unsaturated fatty acids making it a wonderful skin softener and conditioner.
Avocado Oil contains Vitamins A, B, D, E, and beta carotene. It’s a deeply penetrating monounsaturated oil, slightly thicker and than most oils.
It promotes skin hydration, elasticity, cell regeneration, and even helps treat and prevent acne. Sea Buckthorn oil has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling and redness associated with many skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis and rosacea.
Apricot Kernel Oil has very little scent. It can be used for all skin types. Apricot oil helps to improve skin tone, maintain softness and radiance of the skin. It also nourishes the skin and lowers the appearance of face wrinkles, fine lines and blemishes with Vitamin C and E.
Argan Oil is beloved in the cosmetic industry for its incredible conditioning and anti-aging properties. Rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, Argan Oil is known to make dull complexions glow, help diminish the appearance of fine lines, and restore skin elasticity.
Pumpkin seed oil is considered a good oil to use for acne prone skin. It contains a plethora of unsaturated fatty acids which can soothe inflammation and acne-prone skin.
Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca oil, is an essential oil that comes from steaming the leaves of the Australian tea tree. When used topically, tea tree oil is believed to be antibacterial. Tea tree oil is commonly used to treat acne, athlete's foot, lice, nail fungus and insect bites. Tea Tree Oil works best as a preventative measure for dark spots. Its strength lies in its ability to rapidly heal and prevent a blemish or wound to reduce the risk of a dark spot forming, rather than its ability to fade an existing spot.
Recommended for burns, incisions, scarring, and wounds. Vitamin E for healing, It can be added to all oil blends to help extend the shelf life of your formula, as vitamin E is a natural antioxidant.
Rosemary is used as an antioxidant. Rosemary extracts have been used in the treatment of diseases, due to its hepatoprotective potential and its antiangiogenic effect. The anti-inflammatory properties of rosemary extract help to reduce swelling and puffiness of the skin. It also helps to heal burns and soothe the skin. This herb's medicinal qualities make it a powerful cure for chronic skin conditions including dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis.
Although not an oil it is only right to add it to the list. Honey is one of nature's most revered skin remedies. Thanks to its antibacterial and antiseptic abilities, it may benefit oily and acne-prone skin. Honey is also a natural humectant, so it helps keep the skin moist but not oily. This is because humectants draw moisture from the skin without replacing it.
This is not an oil either but we thought we would add this as well. Glycerin is great for the skin because it acts as a humectant, which is a substance that allows the skin to retain moisture. It can increase skin hydration, relieve dryness, and refresh the skin's surface. Glycerin also has antimicrobial properties, which means it can protect the skin from harmful microorganisms.
Another one that is not an oil but a great ingredient to add. Using aloe vera can help moisturize skin. Regularly applying a small amount of aloe vera can help treat various skin conditions, including acne, eczema, and sunburn.
